This position consists of operating either lathes or mills in the production/repair/completion of parts according to customer specifications. The position demands the employee demonstrates the ability to understand work instructions, processes, equipment and materials required to perform the jobs. The employee must have the practical and technical knowledge required of the job as well. The employee must be able to produce a significant volume of work efficiently in a specified period of time. The employee must possess the ability to work independently with little or no direction or follow up to complete tasks and/or job assignments. All work should be completed thoroughly and correctly following established processes and procedures with quality in mind. The employee must possess the ability to cooperate, work and communicate with coworkers, supervisors, subordinates and/or outside contacts. The employee must accept and respond to change in a positive manner. She/he should accept job assignments and additional duties willingly and takes responsibility for his/her own performance. The employee must be punctual for all scheduled/assigned work periods and have an acceptable overall attendance record according to company policy. The employee should seek out new assignments, propose improved work methods and suggest ideas to prevent waste: Suggesting new and improved ways of doing things is encouraged as long as they follow company policies and procedures. Finally the employee must follow all safety rules and regulations inclusive of wearing required safety equipment.
